The Tamworth pig is a heritage breed similar to those brought here by English colonists. In Buckingham County, at Buffalo Creek farm, these slow-growing pigs have been reintroduced from England. They live in the woods on 75 acres, even giving birth in the forest, living natural lives as their ancestors did, without antibiotics. Happy pigs produce healthy pork, their owners believe. We visited the farm to observe several litters of piglets and their inquisitive older relatives.
