Encyclopedia Virginia (EV) is a publicly accessible online publication of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.

EV has published more than 200 peer reviewed, fact checked entries related to the Civil War in America.

All of this content is fed directly to the educational resource section of the Virginia Sesquicentennial Commission’s website. Several EV entries have also been featured as NY Times Topics:
