Zerui Depina, a celebrated singer and musician from Cape Verde, will join Danny Knicely and Aimee Curl for this special performance in Warrenton.

Zerui forged a musical relationship with Danny Knicely while Danny was touring Cape Verde (an island nation off the coast of West Africa) in a cultural exchange sponsored by the U.S. State Department and VFH’s Virginia Folklife Program. Joined by Aimee Curl on bass, the three will give a rare concert featuring the classic Cape Verdean music styles of Morna, Funana, and other instrumental music mixed with songs and tunes from the mountains of Virginia.
