The Fall 2012 statewide meeting of the Virginia African American Museums and Historic Sites Network is Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Norfolk State University.
The meeting, co-sponsored by the VAAMHSN, the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and 1619: The Making of America, will feature guest speaker Dr. Michael Blakey, Director, Institute for Historical Biology, College of William and Mary, and Project Director, ‘Remembering Slavery, Freedom and Resistance.’
The ‘Network’ meeting is free of charge, however registration for the 1619: The Making of America is required. Cost for the symposium is $35.00 per day and includes continental breakfast, snack and lunch. Additional details are below.
