Program Giving

This includes giving restricted to a particular VFH Program.  Leadership participation in Program giving is recognized by inclusion in the Program Patrons, individual donors make gifts of $1000 or more for use by a specific program in a single fiscal year, July 1 to June 30.  To see the list of Program giving opportunities or make a Program gift, visit http://campaign.virginia.edu/supportvfh.

Corporate Sponsorship

Corporations and Foundations support Virginia Foundation for the Humanities each year with generous contributions, which empower VFH to provide public programs throughout Virginia and beyond. VFH has numerous programs and events for entities to sponsor each year.  Each corporate/foundation sponsorship package is customized to enable maximum exposure and benefits for the sponsor.  These benefits can include tickets to VFH events, VFH Website recognition, and acknowledgement in all VFH publications and e-publications. Corporations and Foundations giving $3,000 or more annually to VFH are recognized in the Corporate & Foundation Gold Circle society.  For more information on corporate sponsorships, contact the VFH development office today.

Corporate Matching

Many employers offer matching gift programs, doubling and in some cases even tripling the impact of your gift! Find out if your employer participates at http://www.matchinggifts.com/uva/.

Planned Giving

Many people who make use of Planned Giving vehicles find they can give more when they discover the possible benefits of tax savings, asset management, and regular payments to them for life. They also find that gift giving need not mean sacrificing their own or their loved ones’ financial security. In fact, Planned Giving may help you:

  • Create a supplemental source of retirement income.
  • Ensure a protected income for your spouse or other loved ones who survive you.
  • Arrange funds to cover educational expenses for children or grandchildren.
  • Increase your income from low-yielding stocks or other assets.
  • Continue your important support of humanities programming in Virginia with the establishment of a permanently named fund or endowment.

Cornerstone Society

Making a Planned Gift to VFH entitles you to be a member of the Cornerstone Society which recognizes those who have remembered VFH in their wills or through another planned giving vehicle.  Because these are long-term, income producing gifts, they serve as the cornerstone for future growth and contribute to the expansion of public humanities and scholarship in Virginia.

More information on making a planned gift can be found on the UVA Planned Giving website or by contacting the Office of Gift Planning at 434-924-7306 or 800-688-9882 or giftplanning@virginia.edu

Endowment

Endowment gifts are invested to generate a steady stream of income for fellowships, public programs and events, and digital initiatives. Donors may also create unrestricted endowments, which produce resources that can be used where the need is greatest.  Endowment income is vital to the health and future of VFH’s mission. Endowment gifts may be made with cash, appreciated stocks, by bequest or other planned giving vehicles.  For more information on giving to the VFH Endowment, please contact the VFH development office.
