Peggielene Bartels, author of King Peggy, was born in Ghana and moved to Washington, D.C., in her early twenties to work at Ghana’s embassy.
On Monday Feb. 27th King Peggy was interviewed by Stephen Colbert about the Ghanaian libation ritual and her achievements as the king of Otuam, a Ghanaian village.
On Friday March 23rd you can see King Peggy in person at the Virginia Festival of the Book.
