We were incredibly sad to learn of Emma Edmunds’ passing earlier this week.

Among her many accomplishments, Emma is known for her years of dedicated work at UVa, as the Project Director of Mapping Local Knowledge: Danville 1945-1975, and most recently as a researcher for our History United program.

She was one of our residential fellows and a great friend to Virginia Humanities. Her memorial service is this Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Halifax.

Please join us in sending thoughts and prayers to Emma’s family.
