Over the past two years, between our normal grant programs and the CARES Act and SHARP grant programs, we have awarded nearly $2.5 million to Virginia’s cultural nonprofits. To allow our grants program staff time to process and service these grants, our January 15, 2022 grant deadline has been cancelled.

Organizations seeking funding from us can still apply through our Rolling Grant Program which will be temporarily expanded. Between now and July 2022 only we are increasing the maximum amount that can be requested through the Rolling Grant Program from $5,000 to $20,000 (requests above $10,000 will have additional requirements; please contact grants staff for details).

There are no deadlines for Rolling Grant applications: Letters of Intent and Proposals* may be submitted at any time.

The next opportunity to apply through one of our regular grant cycles will be Summer 2022 (Letters of Intent due May 15; Proposal deadline July 15; Decisions in early September).

*Please note: Letters of Intent must be submitted and approved before work on the application itself can begin. And all applicants are encouraged to submit a draft proposal for staff review in advance of the formal application.
