Are you an artist, scholar, clinician, or writer whose work focuses on health (in)equity in Virginia? A new Health Equity & Justice Fellowship is now available thanks to a partnership between Virginia Humanities, UVA’s Center for Health Humanities and Ethics (CHHE) and the UVA School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity and Community Engagement. This opportunity is open to artists, scholars, and health care providers who are in pursuit of health equity-focused research in the humanities, bioethics, or arts; creative and artistic work; writing projects; or other work.
The one-year fellowship, beginning in September 2023, offers a stipend of $55,000 plus health insurance. Fellows will devote at least thirty hours per week of their time to fellowship duties. The fellowship includes private office space at the CHHE and access to all UVA libraries. Applicants from backgrounds underrepresented in health care and academia and those practicing non-traditional and multi-disciplinary approaches to health equity scholarship are encouraged to apply.
Deadline: April 30, 2023
