As Virginia Humanities’ first Deputy Director, Athena Gould leads our programs and operations, grows and manages the health and wellness of our people and culture, and measures and evaluates the vitality of our work in the public humanities across the Commonwealth. Athena has over fifteen years of public service leadership experience in New York, Nevada, and Virginia. She has a BS degree in Computer Information Science and English Language Studies from SUNY Old Westbury and a MS in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy from Bay Path University.
