Cauline Yates works part-time as one of Virginia Humanities’ receptionists.

Born and growing up in Charlottesville she has seen many changes through the years and has volunteered with many non-profits to improve the community at large.

Her greatest project has been working with the Memorial to the Enslaved Laborers Committee which oversees community engagement and the building of the memorial to the enslaved workers who built the University of Virginia. She has also worked with local teachers and students to educate them about local African American history.

As a receptionist, Cauline provides administrative support to staff and fellows and serves as the first point of contact to Virginia Humanities guests and callers.

Cauline began her work at Virginia Humanities in 2020.
