Lynette Lewis Allston is Chief of the Nottoway Indian Tribe of Virginia. She encourages and mentors the Tribe to embrace cultural regeneration of Native American traditions by sharing Nottoway history and Native art forms from a Native perspective. After a career as a small business owner and community advocate for various commissions and boards in Columbia SC, Allston returned to her childhood home in Drewryville VA. Her current community involvements include President Rawls Museum Arts in Courtland VA, Board member Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Planning Commission member for Southampton County.
