Donna M. Lucey is the media editor of Encyclopedia Virginia. She is the author of a number of award-winning books, including Sargent’s Women: Four Lives Behind the Canvas; the New York Times bestselling Archie and Amélie: Love and Madness in the Gilded Age; and Photographing Montana 1894–1928: The Life and Work of Evelyn Cameron. She has received two grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities as an independent scholar. She’s worked as a photo editor at Time-Life Books, the New York Times Magazine, People and other publications. She is currently under contract with W.W. Norton & Company to write a book titled Victoria’s Island, which concerns Queen Victoria on the Isle of Wight.
