Geston (GP) Pierre is an ordained minister, award-winning recording artist, community leader, and media consultant based in Newport News, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Theology and a Master of Divinity, and serves as lead pastor of New Life Seventh-day Adventist Church in the historic city of Hampton.
He is the Founder and CEO of Leverage Your Influence Media (LYI Media LLC), a media and consulting company that helps civic, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations, amplify their impact through storytelling, podcasting, and community engagement.
GP is an active civic leader in Hampton Roads and a member of the United Way Emerging Leaders Society, the Hampton NAACP, the Mayor’s Book Club of Hampton, and the Emerging Leaders Council of Virginia Humanities. He is one of the visionaries behind The Compassion Project, a national initiative that brings together local organizations from various sectors to partner to address real community needs. Through his involvement with the Hampton Unity Choir and his work as a podcast coach and consultant, GP uses his talents to bring people together and strengthen communities. His passion for the humanities is grounded in the belief that “Every person is just a name, until you know their story”. Through his service with Virginia Humanities, he is committed to elevating voices from Hampton Roads and all across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
