Lyra is Virginia Humanities’ Communications Assistant. She is also an Ensemble Member with UVA Acts and an avid singer-songwriter, actor, and dancer. In 2018, Lyra graduated with an M.A. in Gender, Race, Sexuality & Social Justice from UBC in Vancouver, Canada, where she lived for six years before moving to Charlottesville in late 2021. She received her B.A. in Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies in 2015 from Dartmouth College, where she was awarded the Ezekiel Webber ’00 Award for LGBTQ+ Activism. Lyra has professional experience in non-profit leadership, communications, advocacy, community building, fund development, and strategic planning.
