Shane Woods is an emerging museum professional from Dinwiddie County, now living in Staunton.
The humanities defined his undergraduate career at Mary Baldwin University, and Shane continues to be deeply involved in the field through his work at the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum.
Some of his key work has been in researching queer history and engaging with local LGBTQ+ communities in the Shenandoah Valley to showcase their stories and art. As part of the Emerging Humanities Leaders, Shane looks forward to building meaningful connections with humanities leaders across the commonwealth and offering what he can to further the mission of Virginia Humanities.
