On Wednesday, August 11 at 7pm, Peggy Crosson, President of the Virginia Lewis & Clark Legacy Trail, will speak on Botetourt County’s connection to the Lewis & Clark exploration of the Louisiana Purchase: the reasons the Virginia trail was created, how it is has been developed, and where the VLCLT routes exist today.

Joining the presentation are Kip and Lyn Burton, Co-Chairs of the Botetourt County Lewis & Clark Legacy Trail Committee, who will discuss the specific historical ties the county has to both Explorers, as well as past, current and future activities of the committee.

The lecture will take place at the Historical Society of Western Virginia, as well as virtually on the History Museum’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/vahistorymuseum. This talk is free of charge thanks to sponsors including Norris, Inc, Bank of Botetourt, and Virginia Humanities.
