Virginia Humanities is excited to co-sponsor the annual Afrikana Independent Film Festival, September 16-19! The 2021 hybrid virtual/limited in-person experience celebrates, elevates, and further validates Black stories, Black voices, and Black lives. The festival showcases the cinematic works of people of color from around the world, with a special focus on global Black narratives. Afrikana’s mission is to present high-quality, well-crafted stories that highlight the diaspora and encourage people to connect.
