Join us for a series of webinars intended to expose and educate the public to the significance of partnerships between the Rosenwald and Jeanes Funds, Dr. Booker T. Washington and the Tuskegee Institute, and Black communities in building and sustaining community-based schools in the Jim Crow South.
In discussion with Rosenwald Schools alumni, business partners, historians, and grassroots preservation groups, the webinars will open the aperture on Rosenwald Schools and the Black communities who built and sustained them, with the goal of inspiring communities to invest time and treasure in preserving and repurposing these vanishing historic educational buildings, while also advocating for the economically and environmentally threatened communities they once served.
