Despite the 1954 Supreme Court ruling on Brown v. Board of Education, segregation and equal access to education is an ongoing issue in schools across America. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected Black families, widening the educational gap for students without reliable internet access and computer equipment.

Join moderator Barbara Hamm Lee and explore the growing educational divide among students. Together with guests Elizabeth Huntley, J.D., Dr. James Fedderman, Jimmeka Anderson, and Judge Eileen Olds, this panel will discuss what must be done to create equity and fairness for all students.

This virtual event is part of an ongoing collaboration between Virginia Humanities and the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
