You are invited to register for a free, virtual, experience, hosted by the Black History Initiative (BHI) on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM.

BHI is a diverse team of students, educators, parents, and community partners focused on exploring and understanding the lived experiences of black residents of Virginia Beach.

At this event, you will hear historical, candid interviews from local Black Virginians who participated in the integration process. Learn about their journeys, experiences, and perspectives. Additionally, BHI will facilitate a powerful, interactive “one-word” experience that demonstrates how even a single word resonates differently within a community.

You do not want to miss this beautiful blending of history, present, and future! We present and preserve our legacy through persistence, pride, and perseverance.

This program was made possible, in part, by the Hampton Roads Community Foundation and Virginia Humanities.

Note: This event is no longer taking registrations. (2/11/22)
