A Multimedia Storytelling Event
A Norfolk youth development organization, Teens With a Purpose, dedicated to empowering young people through creativity, reflection, and action will be hosting a storytelling, poetry, and dance performance on Friday, March 11, 2022. The performance will feature original music written and performed by teens and adults involved with the organization. The dance performances have been choreographed by Rita Addico Cohen, founder of Tidewater African Cultural Alliance.
This event is infused with African traditions, and its purpose is to promote peace, justice, and dignity for all. In the spirit of OTU–or “one” in Igbo, a Nigerian language–audience members are invited to participate throughout the program by sharing feelings and responding to prompts.
You can attend either in person or virtually. Preregistration is required.
This event was funded in part by a grant from the Virginia Humanities and the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
