On May 14, join the Buchanan County Public Library to celebrate the dedication of a sign honoring the New York Times Bestselling author Lee Smith. The dedication will begin at Poe Town Street in Grundy, Virginia with a reception to follow.
The reception, which will be held at Buchanan County Public Library and will be hosted by bestselling author Silas House, will feature a guest list of Appalachian authors inspired by Smith’s work. Smith, dubbed the queen of the new Southern regional movement, will also be in attendance.
This event is funded in part by a grant from Virginia Humanities. It is free and open to the public. Those interested are asked to RSVP by calling 276-935-5721.
