Come and enjoy Juneteenth, Sunday, June 19, 2022, with free admission to Patrick Henry’s Red Hill. Juneteenth is the annual celebration commemorating the official end of slavery in the United States, which took place on June 19, 1865.
Pack a picnic, bring your family, and enjoy the grounds from 1pm-5pm. Quarter Place Tours (where Red Hill’s enslaved workers lived and are buried) will be available at 2pm and 4pm, given by Patrick Henry Jolly, Patrick Henry’s 5th great-grandson.
This event is made possible in part by a grant from Virginia Humanities.
