For the tour launch, individuals and partners of the Shenandoah Valley Black Heritage Project will be present at each location to provide light refreshments, tour maps, and booklets for guests. Additional information on each “Roots Run Deep” tour will also be available.
Tours are self-guided driving or walking tours featuring historic African American churches, burial grounds, businesses and museums. These tours were created by local historians, educators, members of the community and historic African American churches.
