Poet laureates chosen at more than a dozen Virginia community colleges will convene at Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville. An esteemed panel of judges will evaluate their poetry, poise, and performance in order to select the statewide Poet Laureate of Virginia’s Community Colleges.

In addition, a few art pieces created by winners of a parallel visual arts competition will be on display. This inaugural event is free and open to the public. This event is supported by the Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Culture and Virginia Humanities.

Poet Laureates selected by Virginia Community Colleges will perform their original poetry tied to the theme, "I Belong."
