Visit Richmond Public Library (Main Library) for a talk by Elvatrice Parker Belsches commemorating Maggie Walker’s 160th birthday.

Elvatrice is the author of Richmond, Virginia: Black America Series (Arcadia Publishing) and several entries for the African American National Biography (Hutchins Center for African & African American Research and Oxford University Press). She was awarded the Maggie L. Walker Heritage Award in 2010 for her verification of an earlier birth year for Mrs. Walker and her creation of the Historic Jackson Ward Podcast Tour by the National Park Service.
