We might all know the movie myth of Remember the Titans in Alexandria, but do we know the whole story?
Facilitated by Alexandria native Dr. La’Tonya Rease Miles (TCW ’88), this conversation between multiple generations of TC Williams cheerleaders, including members of the historic 1971 squad, digs deep into the history of schools, sports, and integration in Alexandria’s Black community. By highlighting the enduring intergenerational community of Alexandria’s cheerleaders, we hope to emphasize how leadership, mentorship, and legacy are passed down through women’s sports.
