Our grants are managed in Foundant’s Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM). Foundant offers a tutorial for applicants to help navigate the grants portal: Applicant Tutorial.

All applicants are required to complete an eligibility review form as the first step in applying for a grant. This form will assess if your proposed application and organization are eligible for a Virginia Humanities grant. Once completed and deemed eligible, you will automatically be given access to the full application.
Draft Review: We recommend that applicants request a grants staff review of applications before submitting a final proposal. Instructions for requesting a review are included in the application form.
Budget: Note that grant funds cannot be used for an organization’s indirect costs.
Note on language: Foundant is integrated with Google Translate. Applicants can translate the application and instructions in a variety of language options. Virginia Humanities will consider applications submitted in languages other than English. Prospective applicants should contact Virginia Humanities grant staff (through an English-speaking interpreter or representative) well in advance of the projected application date.
