Virginia Humanities at WHRO
Virginia Humanities at WHRO is a regional humanities center serving museums, libraries, historic sites, and other cultural nonprofits across Hampton Roads. The program supports public humanities projects that explore the region’s history, cultural traditions, and contemporary issues shaping community life.
Administered in partnership with WHRO Public Media, the regional center supports initiatives that bring local stories to wider audiences, preserve and interpret cultural resources, and engage the public in dialogue around shared experiences and pressing questions. It also serves as a resource for organizations developing humanities-based programming, strengthening the capacity of local institutions to deliver accessible, community-centered work across Hampton Roads.
